Today I’ve got not one, not two, but three new covers to reveal. It’s a busy year…
First off is the cover for the omnibus THIN PLACES.
It shares imagery from the cover of THE LEAPING, but is subtly different; the colours are a touch warmer I think, and the textures have been altered. This is a collection of my first three novels as a special e-book bundle (all three for £10!), due for publication on June 4th. It’s being published alongside a similarly collected trio of Alison Littlewood’s brilliant novels, which is called SEASONS OF MIST. You can pre-order them here, and I’ll be talking more about THIN PLACES (and why I called it that) closer to publication.
Secondly (second off?), we’ve got the deeply disconcerting cover for THE HOME, coming soon from Nightjar Press.
(The picture here is ever so slightly fuzzy, but I somehow did that in changing it from a PDF to a JPEG – the print copies are pin-sharp). I like this story a lot, and was delighted when Nicholas Royle asked if Nightjar Press could publish it – there’s nowhere I’d rather it went. If you’re not familiar with Nightjar, they publish single short stories as beautiful, limited-edition (and affordable) chapbooks. With fantastic covers designed by John Oakey. Note the cover quote from none other than Dennis Etchison, and the Pinter comparison. Note it. Note it.
And finally – lastly, but not leastly – the cover for IDLE HANDS, sequel to GLEAM, second book of THE FACTORY TRILOGY. Due out
around September / October in 2016.
Look at it. Just look at it. Moons, mushrooms, and a nice floor. I love it.
I love them all. Thank you, Jo Fletcher Books and Nightjar Press!
